When dealing with complexity of family systems with high level of conflict, usually different parties are involved (i.e. social workers, medical doctors, teacher, probation officer, psychologist, more than one therapists, etc.). In attempts to create collaboration we commonly experience strong emotions among the network members. These emotions tend to mirror the clients` system. Parallel/isomorphic process can be considered as complication, as the conflicts transferring into the work relationships can be experienced as draining, even as a source of burn-out syndrome. In this workshop, similarities and difference between the terms parallel and isomorphic process were explained, possible dangers of this phenomenon were described and it was demonstrated how it can be used in a dialogical way to enhance insight into the system`s experience. The international workshop was organised by prof. Ottar Ness from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology on February 28, 2020. 15 participants took attended the event.
