Practitioner research is nowadays a common tool used by practitioners to explore and improve their practice across the different fields of social science. This text offers an overview of origins, use, pros and cons of practitioner research in Systemic family therapy. It captures epistemological background explains advantages and possible pitfalls and offers a possible way how to approach recognition of quality in practitioner research. It gives two examples of good practice of practitioner research within the context of Systemic family therapy.
