Kniha „Jsem hudebník a jmenuji se Veselka“ mapuje činnost pěti členů rodiny hudebníků, kteří významně přispěli k vývoji české i evropské hudební kultury. Monografie se v pěti kapitolách zaměřuje na historiografické zmapování života a uměleckého odkazu rodiny Veselků, reflektuje však také dobový historický kontext a charakter hudební kultury dané doby. Publikace zkoumá charakter umělecké činnosti rodiny Veselků také s ohledem na problematiku vztahu regionu a centra, autorka reflektuje i mezinárodní přesahy jejich práce. Uvedená tematická oblast je pak přirozeně konfrontována s fenoménem uměleckého odkazu Leoše Janáčka. Práce tak syntetickým způsobem propojuje reflexi hudebně historické, kulturní i obecně historické roviny se systematickou analýzou uměleckých, estetických, či stylových východisek spjatých s tvůrčí činností rodiny Veselků. Spis je doplněn bohatým bibliografickým soupisem, fotografickou dokumentací i jmenným rejstříkem.

The book "I am musician and my name is Veselka" is mapping out the activity of five members of a musician family, who made a great contribution to Czech as well as European culture. The monograph focuses in five chapters on the historiographical mapping of the life and artistic heritage of the Veselka family, but also reflects the historical context and character of the musical culture of the time. The publication examines the character of artistic activity of the Veselka family also with regard to the issue of the relationship between the region and the center. This thematic area is then naturally confronted with the phenomenon of the artistic legacy of Leoš Janáček. The work thus synthetically connects the reflection of the musical historical, cultural and generally historical level with the systematic analysis of artistic, or aesthetic starting points connected with the creative activities of the Veselka family. The file is accompanied by a rich bibliographic inventory, photographic documentation and name index.
