Na Janáčkově akademii múzických umění, která vznikla v roce 1947, působily osobnosti, které vyvíjely činnost ve více oblastech a nejen v Brně. Příkladem takového hudebníka František Michálek (1895–1951), člen zakládajícího pedagogického sboru JAMU, pedagog brněnské konzervatoře, varhaník koncertní a chrámový, sbormistr, skladatel, poradce při stavbě varhan, editor skladeb starších slohových epoch, který předjímal hnutí staré hudby druhé poloviny 20. století. Referát hodnotí přínos Františka Michálka.

At the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts which was founded in 1947 were active personalities who worked in several areas and not only in Brno. An example of such a musician, František Michálek (1895-1951), a member of the founding teachers of JAMU, a teacher of the Brno Conservatory, a concert and a church organist, a choirmaster, a composer, an organist, an editor of compositions of Early Music who anticipated the Early Music movement of the second half of the 20th century. The article assesses the most significant contributions of František Michálek.
