Referát nejprve krátce definuje pojem „stará hudba“, dále stručně nastiňuje dějiny jejího hnutí po druhé světové válce. Z řady publikovaných prací, které reflektují filosofii celého hnutí, je vybráno 8 autorů a 10 jejich textů, které nabízejí pozoruhodné názory k fenoménu autenticity v interpretaci staré hudby.
