One of the key pedagogical tasks in the education of a professional actor is creating one´s own acting technique. The process of a student´s self-recognition of acting as material for creating living characters requires the transformation of an actor´s personality to a being that is able to perceive the author´s world, to adopt him and to compare him with the modern contemporary world. The attention in lessons is focused on the creative dialogue between the student and the author of the play for creating roles. During the first years students themselves act as an author in the excercises, recognizing and examining their personality from all sides in the process of the play, while later they focus on the playwright whose art they can "translate" from literary structures into the language of acting. Continuously changing and developing modern literature requires actors to change the process of this "translating", which leads to new "techniques of interpreting" for which "psychological motivation of the act" is not enough. For several years our studio has been dealing with, searching and finding these techniques, both in actors training and in the education of an actor´s personality. Our "metaphoric technique" has been based on this process.
