Abstract
Architekt a návrhář nábytku, Jaroslav Grunt, spolupracoval s profesionálním divadlem mezi lety 1929-1931. V této době navrhl výpravu pěti činoherních dramat pro české divadlo v Brně. S odstupem času upadly jeho práce takřka v zapomění. On sám nepokládal za důležité archivovat své scénické návrhy a tak je pravděpodobně většina obrazové dokumentace k jeho scénografické tvorbě ztracena. Gruntovy scénické kompozice charakterizovala estetická vytříbenost a dramatická funkčnost. Progresivita jeho vyjadřovacích prostředků se projevila v rovině esteticky vybrané formy detailů scény. Z hlediska inovativního řešení divadelního prostoru výtvarník naopak setrvával ve spojení s tradicí.

Z hlediska inovativního řešení divadelního prostoru výtvarník naopak setrvával ve spojení s tradicí.

Abstract (in English)
Architect and furniture designer, Jaroslav Grunt, came to the professional theatre about over the years 1929-1931. In this time he designed five dramatic stage designs for the Czech language Brno stage. His creative work for theatre have more or less slipped into the obtivion of theatre history. Grunt himself was not concerned with archiving his design projects and the majority of his designs as well as additional a pictorial documentation are in all probability lost. Grunts stage compositions characterised aesthetic retinement and a dramatic functional character. The progressiveness of Grunts expressive means are apparent on the aesthetic level of the chosen forms of the details of the scenes. From the perspective of the innovative design of the theatre space the artist in contrast persevered in a connetion with tradition.
