AUDIOVISUAL CREATION AND THEATRE

The admission procedure for the bachelor’s study consists of two rounds. In the first round, the committee evaluates the submitted materials; the second round is an examination in the form of an interview focused on the submitted materials.

RADIO AND TV DRAMATURGY AND SCRIPTWRITING

In the first round, applicants submit three of their own prose texts, an analysis of a feature film and deep reflections of three television dramatic works, three documentaries, three radio plays and three radio documentaries; the submitted materials are subsequently evaluated. In the second round, the applicants demonstrate their knowledge of culture and the ability to immediately work on an assigned topic; this is followed by an interview. If all goes well, the applicant is accepted for three-year bachelor's degree studies.

    AUDIOVISUAL CREATION AND THEATRE

    The bachelor’s degree studies aim to prepare future graduates for practical tasks in the field of audiovisual art and photography so that they are able to work independently with modern technologies at a professional level, especially in the field of theatre performance recording and documentary.

    RADIO AND TV DRAMATURGY AND SCRIPTWRITING

    The bachelor’s degree studies aim educate professionals who are technically skilled, thoughtful and simultaneously creative. Due to the current development of digital technologies, students are led to a consistent and comprehensive development of original author’s skills not only at the screenwriting level, but also at the level of implementation.

    Graduates of the specialisation Audiovisual Creation and Theatre find employment in television studios in the positions of directors, editors and cinematographers. They can also work as independent photographers in the field of documentary and theatre or collaborate with theatres as independent audiovisual creators.

    RADIO AND TV DRAMATURGY AND SCRIPTWRITING

    Graduates of the bachelor’s degree studies demonstrate professional knowledge in the field of theory and history of audiovisual and audio production as well as dramaturgical production. They are able to critically judge and adequately apply creative methods and procedures. They are ready for the use and develop their ideas, attitudes and creative activities across the media spectrum in an original manner, with an emphasis on screenwriting and original author’s activities. They deepen their knowledge in a selected area of study – radio, television, film, new media – and they are able to actively use the creative overlaps into other related fields. At the same time, they are also familiar with basic issues of copyright and its application.

    The Audiovisual Creation and Theatre field connects the theatrical world and the world of new media. It responds to the new artistic and technological needs of contemporary theatre, conceiving it as a live interactive art, including the need for artistic reflection and qualified audiovisual documentation of dramatic production.

    The bachelor’s degree studies prepares graduates who are well versed in the fields of radio, television and film in relation to dramatic art. Professions of television and radio dramaturge and screenwriter require both specialised authorial training and a broader knowledge in the field of cultural history, mass communication and a diverse range of artistic and journalistic genres.
