- Course objectives
- Achieving a coherent ensemble sound with decent improvisational performances complemented by good support from the rhythm section.
- Syllabus
- Deepening experience in musical dialogue with other instrumentalists. Playing moderately challenging jazz standards and compositions. Analysis of the concepts activity rhythm section in jazz various periods of development and imitations of these conceptual approaches. Playing slow and fast tempos with emphasis on precision and consistency phrasing tempo songs. Working with the dynamics in improvisation. Construction and gradation solos and his support of the accompanying instrumentalists. Playing forms of "Rhythm Changes" in different tempos and keys. Recommended tracks for teaching: Just Friends, Have You Met Miss Jones, Days of Wine and Roses, I Love You, Oleo, I Got Rhythm and composition students. At the end of the semester will hold a small concert with the ensemble rehearsed repertoire.
