Annotation of the FoM’s results in clause 3.6 Significant Results of Applied Research with Other Than Economic Impact on the Society 1) Bártová J. et al. Osobnosti Hudební fakulty JAMU (Personalities of Faculty of Music of the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts). Brno: JAMU, 2017. 978-80-7460-120-0. A collective monograph that significantly boosts the picture of JAMU FM as a substantial co-creator of the (musical) culture of Brno, the region and the country; with a high level of quality, the monograph popularizes the creative activities of the institution and thus contributes to understanding its results as a cultural, artistic and scientific value for the general civil society. 2) Šťastný, J. Josef Berg a jeho Snění (Josef Berg and his Dreaming). Brno: JAMU, 2018. ISBN 978-80- 7460-140-8. The publication represents a highly innovative multidisciplinary research project using the example of the selected composition and its musical and theoretical analysis (Josef Berg, 1927- 1971; a Czech composer synthetizing traditional styles with New Music impulses, reaching out to the field of musical happening or literary-musical satire), presents a new view of the phenomenon of the Brno Composition School of the 2nd half of the 20th century – i.e. of the unique group of composers that were able to respond to the progressive development trends of the European composition styles and apply them in the context of the Czech music environment; and of the phenomenon of post-war musical avant-garde and the Musica Nova movement, as well as the specific combination of composition with theatre. The monograph therefore has a significant impact on the development of awareness of our cultural heritage and thus on fulfilling the third role of the institution. 3) Dlouhý, D. Počítačem podporovaná algoritmická kompozice (Computer Aided Algorithmic Composition). Brno: JAMU, 2018. ISBN 978-80-7460-141-5. The monograph is an inter-field study involved in the area of mathematics, physics and (electro)acoustics on the one hand and reflecting the questions of artistic and aesthetic nature on the other hand. The thesis integrates and synthetizes a standard scientific monograph with impulses from artistic research, reflecting the author's composition experience. The publication significantly shifts the reflection of composition techniques and possibilities related to computer technology, and therefore also has a significant impact in the area of artistic practice. Thus the monograph may represent a solid basis for a whole range of furhter research in all the outlined areas. 4) Rovňák, G. Zdeněk Košler – Život a dílo (Zdeněk Košler – Life's Work). Brno: JAMU, 2017. ISBN 978- 80-7460-118-7. The monograph reflects a highly relevant topic for the development of Czech musical culture (including its reflection abroad) (Zdeněk Košler 1928-1995; a leading Czech conductor with extensive artistic activities even abroad; in 1971-1981 he was a conductor of the Czech Philharmonic, in 1980-1985 and then in 1988-1991 he was the main conductor of the National Theatre). Its significant social impact promotes awareness of the legacy of an important element of the Czech and Slovak musical culture, in connection to the events of the world. The application potential of the publication is based in the possibility of intensive use in practical artistic interpretation and conducting. 5) Jarešová, I. English Texts for students of the Music Faculty. Brno: JAMU, 2018. ISBN 978-80-7460- 143-9. The paper has a strong application potential for development of specialized music teaching (specialized terminology, history of music, phenomena of musical culture, literary genres dealing with music, etc.) in English. One of its great merits is the very current view of the topic, which reflects the multiple layers, complexity and interconnectedness of today's musical and cultural environment and operation. The publication serves as a specialized manual for students of JAMU FM as well as to the general cultural public. By its nature, it contributes to the increase of the internationalization potential of FM and facilitates the fulfilment of the third role.
