Disciplinary code for students of the Janáček Academy of Arts and performing Arts in Brno (hereinafter JAMU) was registered by the Ministry of Education of the Czech Republic pursuant to §36, Art.2 of Act No. 111/1998 Coll. on Higher Education as amended on June 22, 1999 under the reference No. 23 792/99 – 30. J. Beneš Head of Higher Education Department DISCIPLINARY CODE FOR STUDENTS OF JAMU Article 1 Fundamental Provisions This disciplinary code applies to all students of JAMU enrolled in both faculties of JAMU. Article 2 Disciplinary Offences (1) Each disciplinary offence is dealt with by the disciplinary commission of the faculty at which the student studies (hereinafter the commission). (2) The commission consists of six members, the term of their office is two years. (3) The commission is convened in writing by the chairperson. The commission is quorate when at least three fifths of the members are present. (4) The section of the commission meetings in which the facts of the case are discovered is public. (5) The student whose disciplinary offence is being dealt with shall be so notified in person at least two weeks in advance. (6) The minutes of the commission meetings, recording the facts relevant to the decision, are taken. The student present is entitled to express their opinion for the record. (7) The proposed sanctions are implemented by vote. The sanction comes into effect if it receives a simple majority of the votes available. (8) The imposed sanction may be published on the official notice board of the faculty. Article 3 Final Provisions (1) This disciplinary code pursuant to § 9 Article 1b of Act No. 111/1998 Coll on Higher Education was authorized by the Academic Senate of JAMU on May 6, 1999. (2) This code comes into force pursuant to § 36 Article 4 of the Act on Higher Education on the day of registration by the Ministry of Education of the Czech Republic. Alois Hajda Rector
