GENERAL INFORMAT ION The Erasmus Student Exchange Programme “Bridging East and West” (BEW) aims to create a space for artis tic and educ ational exc hange between European guest students and the specific s urroundings of a Central European cultural tradition and atm osphere. By im plem enting m ethods and experiences of Czec h cultural prac tic e in an internationally oriented artistic teaching process, the “Bridging East and West” programme is designed and developed within the process of c ollecting c ontributions from students of European th eatre sc hools , constantly analysing their inputs, needs and preferences and framing them in the wider context of a Central European his tory of ideas and artis tic uniqueness. As incoming students do not have a sufficient knowledge of the Czech language to follow course s together with JAM U students and their level of skills and knowledge may be different, BEW has been established in order to cre ate a performance proje ct realized by international students, who are not integrated into faculty departments due to high number of incoming students that our faculty rece ives every se mester. The project is held during the winter and summer sem esters for the following study spec ialisations of theatre s tudies: Study specialis ations at bac helor’s and m aster’s level fr om which applic ations for Bridging East and West are invited:  Drama Ac ting  Mus ical Acting  Theatre Dram aturgy and Direc ting  Radio and TV Script and Writing  Stage and Cos tum e Des ign  Theatre and Educ ation  Physic al Theatre  Theatre Managem ent  Stage Tec hnology  Danc e Pedagogy  Drama in Educ ation for Deaf  Lighting Des ign  Audiovis ual Creation and Theatre We also have a Ph.D. programme in the Cz ech language for students doing their researc h in the following areas: Acting, Directing, Dramaturgy, Scenography, Theatre Managem ent and Theatre and Educ ation.
