What are the conditions of the entrance examination? 

Applicants must have completed secondary education by a Matura examination. Applicants must demonstrate an exceptional level of skills in their specialization in a practical exam and meet the conditions of the admission procedure. The entrance examination determines the professional and especially artistic qualification for studies in the chosen specialization of the given study program. 

How does the entrance examination work? 

The entrance examination is held in the form of a recital, during which the applicant performs on the instrument for which he or she is applying. There are the following specializations in the Playing Wind Instruments study program: Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, French horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba.

How will the entrance examination for clarinet be conducted?

The applicant should prepare the following compositions for the entrance examination:

  1. Etudes:
    1. one – E. Cavallini: Capricie
    2. one – P. Jean – Jean: 18 perfect or 16 modern etudes
  2. Sonata:

  3. J. Brahms: Sonata No 1 or

  4. J. Brahms: Sonata No 2 Op.120 or

  5. B. Martinů: Sonatina
  6. One concert of the classical or romantic period.

In addition to the talent part of the entrance examination, the applicants will also take a general knowledge test, which makes up ten percent of the overall evaluation. Each applicant shall also ensure their own piano accompaniment.
