What does a student learn in the Vocal Studies program?
The student of the Vocal Studies will develop a high level of interpretation skills. The student will learn in-depth about the history of music and the development of artistic movements and will be familiar with the aesthetics of art, including the development of artistic movements. He or she will also gain practical experience by working on faculty and university-wide projects. These include solo and chamber projects and projects of the Chamber Opera and Devítka Studio; they can also gather experience on study trips abroad. The Vocal Studies prepare the student to be able to work with their own developed creative imagination and fantasy. At the same time, the student will gain a deep knowledge of music and drama in the context of the history of music, literature, drama, and visual arts, and he or she will be able to produce work at a scholarly level.
