- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to give the participants an overview of all aspects of lighting design, both in theory and practice. It deals with the duality of the profession and tries to gives students the basic technical skills as well as an introduction to the creative process. The 1 week course consists in a theoretical and a practical part, with more importance given to the latter. It´s an opportunity for students of all fields to try to work with lights and materials. Specific exercises should give them good basis that can be developed in their further study or work.

- Day 1:
- Lighting design and its main techniques
- Properties of light
- Perception and analysis of light
- Photo/video examples and their analysis
- Main types of light fixtures and technical vocabulary
- Practical demonstrations
- Creating light cues and their sequences
- Day 2 and 3:
- practical exercises
- (colour and direction of light, work with materials, evolution of a light scene in time...)
- photo documentation of the exercises
- Teaching methods
- Workskop at Orlí theatre
- Assessment methods
- Participation and final presentation
