Prerequisites
Completed bachelor's thesis focused on theory and practice in art, theater, film, lighting design, and architecture. Prerequisite is completion of the Diploma Proseminar, Diploma Seminar, and Seminar on Reflections on Contemporary Scenography.

Course objectives
The master's thesis addresses professional issues related to topics in the fields of visual arts, theater, film, theater scenography, and costume design. Students must demonstrate their ability to reflect theoretically and analyze works with the help of relevant professional literature or analysis of the material under investigation, i.e., through research through art. By assigning a credit, the supervisor admits the thesis to defense, which demonstrates the quality of independent professional theoretical work.
Learning outcomes
The student is able to:
work with specialized literature and apply it in practice
demonstrate extensive knowledge of art theory
use the ability to reflect on a given topic in practice and further study
demonstrate knowledge of primary and secondary literature and sources, and be able to process it according to the relevant citation standards
demonstrate the ability to independently process more complex issues and use the knowledge acquired during their studies and their own artistic activities
work on art research projects

  • Presentation of selected chapters
