Pavel Drábek, Josh Overton: Material Dramaturgy: Making the Theatrical Experience From Below: Spoken and Sung Drama workshop / masterclass 20. and 21. 3. (?) We welcome theatre makers from different disciplines to join this practical workshop: writers, dramaturgs, performers, directors, scenographers, producers. In this collaborative workshop we will create concepts for possible shows – new work that may cover spoken drama, sung drama (even opera), sound drama, scenographic explorations (including object performance) or acting-based action. We offer to work in an open method we have used for a number of years: a collaborative way of generating new work from the participants’ skills and from the available materials. It is experimental in nature but focused in the production aspects and budgetary responsibility (human and material resources). The results of this workshop will be shared with the conference participants in a studio setting. The resulting size and form of the work will depend on: 1. the duration of the workshop (TBC with the conference organisers: minimal duration 2x 3h), 2. production conditions and performance spaces and modes; and, 3. the interests, talents and creativity of the participants. - Course Enrolment Limitations
