Course objectives
The aim of the course is to teach students how to prepare (from the topic to the budget) and implement a professional symposium focused on external participants, within the framework of a year-long team. The aim is to develop their organizational and communication skills (including problem solving), support their critical thinking and creativity. The event itself then enables students to establish valuable professional contacts with the expert community. It also includes critical reflection and evaluation of the course and outcome of a specific project (including their own involvement).
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, students will be able to:
a) independently (or as part of a team) design and implement a professional symposium, including setting the topic, program, and necessary communication with the professional public;
b) present the results of their own and team work, communicate effectively with guests, partners, and other participants;
c) handle administrative, organizational, and coordination tasks related to the preparation and implementation of the event (e.g., budget, promotion, logistics, etc.);
d) develop their critical thinking (the ability to reflect on their own work based on feedback received, including evaluating the success of the project according to set criteria);
e) demonstrate the ability to engage in professional dialogue, use networking, and, if necessary, present themselves in a professional environment.
